Agriculture Mechanics Technology / Woodworking Exploration
Prerequisites: None
One Year Course- 10 units
Grades: 9-12
The Winters High School Agriculture Mechanics Technology / Woodworking Exploration course is designed to expose students to a variety of skill sets in the areas of Agriculture Mechanics, Woodworking, and FFA Leadership. Emphasis is placed on the FFA organization, shop safety, power tool use, drafting measurement, basic welding, and electrical wiring. Meant for 1st year Ag students, this course will provide students with skill sets to chose a pathway within the Winters High School Agriculture Mechanics / Woodworking Program. A Shop Fee of $25.00 per semester to cover costs of supplies is required of every student.

ROP Agriculture Mechanics
This is a hands on course with instruction in FFA, safety, proper tool use, equipment operation, materials, metalworking, ARC Oxy/Acetylene and MIG/TIG welding, construction and fabrication skills, small engines and mechanics. Students will refine and improve their mechanical ablilities, will be involved with large complex projects, and will develop problem solving skills. FFA participation and students SOE (Supervised Occupational Enterprises) are mandatory elements of the course and will be included in the student's grade. Each student is required to have a project and pay for their own materials as well as work on required projects. A $25.00 shop fee per semester covers basic consumables such as welding supplies, grinder discs, etc.
